A
The Woods

The woods at Frog Level are typical of the Appalachians with a mixture
of hardwood and evergreen trees and clear, cool streams.  The woods
change with the seasons and change from year to year as trees sprout
and die and storms rearrange the creek.  This page collects some
views, past and present, in our woods.

Cold Weather, January 2014
Much of the woods is dull and lifeless in the winter, but color is still to be found in
some unexpected places.
The old vacation house is gone except for its foundation stones and the fireplace.   The
stone steps down to the creek remain with help from a bit of masonry now and then.
The andirons in the fireplace were cut and bent from pieces of railroad track by the
original owners.
